If there’s one thing that makes Baja California Sur special it has to be its delicious food, and Todos Santos is no exception. From places that feature dishes fusing different styles and cuisines to more traditional establishments that capitalize on the region’s excellent seafood and Mexican specialties, we bring you our selection of restaurants you simply have to check out while you’re here.

JAZAMANGO
※※※
This restaurant’s “farm-to-table” concept is a guarantee of top-quality local ingredients. Chef Javier Plascencia combines the best of Mexican cuisine with fresh seafood to create dishes like yellowtail and cooked shrimp tostadas, smoked bone marrow and organic spring chicken.
Featuring an open-plan layout and surrounded by gardens teeming with cactus and maguey plants, Jazamango also boasts an excellent bakery and wine and beverage list. And if you come on Sunday, be sure to order the barbacoa (lamb or goat steamed in an underground pit) in tacos or a torta (sandwich).

OYSTERA
※※※
This endeavor by Santa Terra specializes in seafood and fish and is known for its live music, mimosas and Bellinis. The building itself is striking, but inside is where the real magic happens: an oyster bar in the center serves the freshest oysters, in batches of six or a dozen, along with a selection of salsas and vinaigrettes.
Chef Poncho Cadena’s menu is a celebration of contemporary cuisine. Don’t hesitate to order the fried oysters with habanero aioli or the marinated tuna tostada.

DŪM
※※※
The lush vegetation and Mediterranean-style cuisine of this restaurant will immediately make you feel at one with nature. Chefs Aurelien Legeay and Paulina Noble are responsible for planning the menu, which changes every new moon.
A champion of sustainable practices, Dūm creates dishes using combinations of organic products that will blow your palate away. Among the most popular are the potato raviolis smothered in a creamy gratin dauphinois sauce and the oxtail in red wine reduction with smoked carrot purée. A word of advice: be sure to consult their website or social media before going, because they don’t open every season.

BENNO
※※※
Hotel San Cristóbal is home to a gem of a restaurant with an ocean view: Benno. Fusing Mediterranean and Mexican flavors, Benno has a relaxed atmosphere and an organic wine list.
Open for breakfast and dinner only, this is a great place to watch the sun go down as you enjoy a ceviche or homemade pasta. Other dishes deserving of mention are the fish of the day served in green mole and the choyero breakfast — machaca burritos with white ranchero cheese. To top it all off, order some churros served with dulce de leche (thick caramelized milk) and hot chocolate sauce. Simply delicious!

TENOCH
※※※
To get to Tenoch at the Paradero Todos Santos hotel, you follow a dirt road that runs through chili pepper fields. This restaurant’s laid-back ambiance contrasts with its contemporary, Japanese-influenced dishes, prepared with the finest of the region’s fish and seafood.
Many ingredients come from the restaurant’s own orchard or are sourced locally, which accounts for the natural, authentic flavors of its dishes. We suggest the slow-roasted veal tongue, which goes well with wine, or the manchamantel mole, that is sweet, fruity and spicy all at once. Wrap up the meal with the surprising chocolate taco with panna cotta.

COCINA DE CAMPO BY AGRICOLE

The lush garden surrounding this restaurant produces many of the ingredients that go into its dishes. Cocina de Campo seeks to raise awareness about the importance of sustainable farming with intense flavors that connect people with the land.
Its Mexi-Cali-style menu features dishes like white fresco-style cheese with chili, Josper fish and ribeye tacos, and it also has a respectable beverage and cocktail menu. Located in the neighboring town of El Pescadero, you can eat here and purchase products at its farmhouse store.
